Elkraftringen 2008-2009

Purpose

The aim is that within the selected areas stimulate Swedish industry to be at the forefront of industrial development and research, to promote the commercialization of electric power technical ideas and disseminate knowledge of Swedish electrical power engineering and research and to stimulate interest in higher power technical studies and training. Actions of this nature are required when electric and power industry is an area of great importance for the conversion of energy and to meet the climate and energy policy objectives. To meet the needs and requirements imposed on electrical power system requires action in terms of both research and industrial development.

Sweden is well placed to maintain and develop a leading position in selected parts of the area and the large investment needs in the electric power field means that there are good opportunities to retain and create successful Swedish growth and rising employment in the electric power technical area.

Power Circle is a unique configuration that brings together the manufacturing industry within the areas of electric power components, power companies, the academies and regional actors. Power Circle is well placed to coordinate and focus the efforts of the Swedish private sector and state to promote, develop and support the electrical power technology and thus contribute to the strengthening and creation of research of high international standard and develop Swedish industry. The latter is through the development of ideas, contribute to the commercialization of ideas and to promote and increase the visibility of Swedish electric and power industries.

Target

The overall objective of the project and Power Circle's activities is to promote, develop and support the electric power technology in Sweden. It shall be made mainly through development and highlighting of areas that can develop cutting-edge technology, expertise and new business. The project is divided into seven components, which are briefly described below.

Subproject 1

Through an annual conference Power Circle is to develop and make visible the relationship between R & D, industrial development and commercialization. With good examples is the conference to clarify how R & D and new business creates new jobs and growth.

Subproject 2

Disseminate knowledge about the industry's industrial situation and its development potential. Through a well developed information portal the opportunities are made visible together with the link between development efforts, growth and employment.

Subproject 3

The Subproject shall create, evaluate and initiate one or two cutting-edge ideas appropriate for Swedish power technology research, education and commercialization of world-class.

Subproject 4

The Subproject will stimulate cooperation between the Nordic countries and also cooperation with EU and / or other international bodies concerning Swedish / Nordic power technology activities in order to make the Nordic countries benefit from international efforts.

Subproject 5

Power Circle is to operate the Swedish ENARD-work and also make the Swedish electric power industry more visible. Learn more about ENARD on http://www.iea-enard.org/.

Subproject 6

Power Circle shall identify, follow and actively participate in such national and international activities that can create new policies for the electric power technology. The aim is to get early information about any new policy and to demonstrate its impact on Swedish industry and the Swedish electricity technical players.

Subproject 7

Subproject 7 is removed from phase 2 of the project.

Subproject 8

Try to increase the interest in higher education within the fields of energy and power technology in close cooperation with the leading Swedish universities.
