Svenska Kraftnät

Svenska Kraftnät is a state utility which was established on 1 January 1992. The company administers and runs the national electrical grid which in total consists of approximately 15,000 kilometres of 200 kV and 400 kV lines plus installations, interconnectors to neighbouring countries and IT systems. The duties of the system operator include the responsibility for the electricity system being in a short-term state of balance and its installations working together in an operationally reliable way. Operations are primarily financed by the fees that power producers and network owners pay to transmit power across the grid.

Since July 2005, Svenska Kraftnät also has the system responsibility for the national supply of natural gas.

Svenska Kraftnät has around 300 employees, the majority of whom work at our head office at Vällingby, Stockholm. We also have offices at Sundsvall, Sollefteå and Halmstad, as well as a training centre for linesmen on civil duty at Åsbro. Svenska Kraftnät provides employment for hundreds more people via contract work on the operation and maintenance of the grid all across the country.

Green Highway

Sundsvall-Östersund and Trondheim municipalities collaborate in three areas which may contribute to a positive development within the municipalities.  Green Highway and the electric car project is one part in the effort to develop the infrastructure and valid communications.

Green Highway is a venture to create a green transport axis along a renewable energy belt, including investments in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, renewable fuels, testing and development, as well as building up and spreading knowledge of this.

Durable Gotland launched

The first electric powered car in the project Smart Mobility Gotland can now be found on the island. An entirely electrically powered car that has been bought by Stavfa Gård is now driven quietly and without releasing any harmful exhaust onto Gotland's streets. The car is not seen only as an environmentally friendly way of transportation, but also as an investment in the future. Power Circle has together with GEAB and Produkt Gotland initiated the electric car project named "Smart Mobility Gotland" which aims to increase the interest in electrically driven cars and to develop the infrastructure that is needed. The project initially turned towards small companies and the thought is to present Gotland as a sustainable and unique island.
