KTH - EKC2

The vision for EKC² is to establish the center as leader in the area of Electric Power Engineering, and create a natural meeting point for industry and academia in northern Europe.

The research within EKC² spans four research areas, Maintenance Management, Controllable Power Systems, IT applications for Power System Operation and Control and High Performance Electrical Machines and Drives.

EKC² is built on a tradition of successful co-operation between industry, academia and society. Funding for the centre is provided by the Swedish Power Indutry, the Swedish Energy Agency and KTH - The Royal Institute of Technology.

Green Highway

Sundsvall-Östersund and Trondheim municipalities collaborate in three areas which may contribute to a positive development within the municipalities.  Green Highway and the electric car project is one part in the effort to develop the infrastructure and valid communications.

Green Highway is a venture to create a green transport axis along a renewable energy belt, including investments in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, renewable fuels, testing and development, as well as building up and spreading knowledge of this.

Durable Gotland launched

The first electric powered car in the project Smart Mobility Gotland can now be found on the island. An entirely electrically powered car that has been bought by Stavfa Gård is now driven quietly and without releasing any harmful exhaust onto Gotland's streets. The car is not seen only as an environmentally friendly way of transportation, but also as an investment in the future. Power Circle has together with GEAB and Produkt Gotland initiated the electric car project named "Smart Mobility Gotland" which aims to increase the interest in electrically driven cars and to develop the infrastructure that is needed. The project initially turned towards small companies and the thought is to present Gotland as a sustainable and unique island.
