Study Finds 40% of American Adults wil test EV

Forty percent of consumers report they are likely to test drive an electric vehicle, according to a new study of online American adults from the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). The study, Electric Vehicles: The Future of Driving, suggests electric vehicles entice consumers with improved environmental quality and potential cost savings, but leave them with questions about battery life and convenience of battery charging. Better Place Extends Tokyo Battery Swap Trial

Better Place has extended its switchable-battery electric vehicle (EV) taxi pilot in Tokyo to operate through the end of the year. By extending the trial-which involves three exchangeable-battery EV taxis-Better Place says it will be able to further evaluate and optimize the design and integration of the components of the system including the battery switch station (BSS), the EV taxis, battery performance and charging as well as driver behavior and consumer acceptance. Nissan’s US Roll-Out Plan for the LEAF

Nissan's LEAF EV first will be available to consumers in December, in California, Washington, Oregon, Arizona and Tennessee. These areas are home to The EV Project-the largest electric vehicle and infrastructure deployment yet undertaken. The EV Project is a result of a partnership with charging infrastructure provider ECOtality and partially funded by a grant from the US Department of Energy. Read more

Sundsvall-Östersund and Trondheim municipalities collaborate in three areas which may contribute to a positive development within the municipalities.  Green Highway and the electric car project is one part in the effort to develop the infrastructure and valid communications.

Green Highway is a venture to create a green transport axis along a renewable energy belt, including investments in electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, renewable fuels, testing and development, as well as building up and spreading knowledge of this.
